We’re a California design studio,
specializing in bringing ideas and identities to life.

Our work is only half of the story.

We’re not your typical studio

We’re nimble, allowing us to put thoughtful design first, every time. Our clients, are more than just that — they are partners. We collaborate with like-minded folks, on projects we are inspired by. This lean and mean structure helps maintain our focus and priorities, (which we think) makes for better work. The most fruitful relationships are those where we walk away from the process having learned something new.

WHAT DEFINES US

The outlook of any particular studio or designer is as much an ingredient of the work as talent or ability. A few guiding principles define our business, process and philosophy.

Emotional connection

A singular idea has the ability to stir up strong emotions — to move us, change us. Successful design connects ideas to feelings in a universal manner independent of language, culture and geography.

Longevity over novelty

New technologies and aesthetics change constantly—we strive for ideas that outlive both. We look past the insulated world of design, technology and advertising to seek greater inspiration.

Avoid the expected

We’ve always been different, and that flair is what makes us unique and memorable. Our work challenges the status quo in a way that is thoughtful—not reactionary or gimmicky.

Studio Leadership

Our studio is unique, as the principals are actively involved in all projects. With this approach the work benefits from years of experience and expertise—resulting in smarter, more successful results.

Process & Services

Its all about balance. As strategists, we implement the human-centered approach and structure learned as IDEO alumni. As designers, we rely on our ability to turn the intangible into visual form. These elements combine within three distinct areas of consideration.

STRATEGY & CONCEPT

The groundwork for any design challenge starts here — defining a single definitive positioning, purpose and personality. By gathering insights and understanding behaviors, design principles are established to guide the design of product, services, as well as brand identity.

BRAND IDENTITY

Strategy and concept are still abstract concepts until given a visual expression. Your brand identity is the toolbox of elements used to bring your design principles to life. Since the groundwork is established, your logo and accompanying elements all follow logically from a considered place.

BRAND EXPRESSION

Once the brand identity is clearly defined, we expand our process, bringing it to life across all touch-points. We know that a thoughtful identity is only successful when its also applied thoughtfully. From apps, to packaging and environments, this approach ensures consistency on all platforms.
