A market in Boulder (and now Denver) that serves farm fresh prepared foods approached us to design an identity as delicious as their dishes. Their fare is made from simple, whole ingredients (think grocery store perimeter) and is healthy, delicious, and affordable.
The concept of being “real” and handmade was an important communication piece, but also needed to integrate with a very modern interior space. The answer was a symbol wordmark juxtaposing serif and san serif typography as a subtle way of reinterpreting the concept of “modern”.
They had a lot of ideas, but a small budget, so we designed a flexible system with a series of monograms for various applications, a logo that could be applied as a square and in horizontal format, and a series of patterns that could be printed out and applied everywhere.
