La Condesa Comida y Tequila

Inspired by the vibrant Mexico City neighborhood of the same name, this restaurant embraces the diverse mix of old and new cultural influences that continue to shape La Condesa. This eclectic restaurant’s design was completed when Christine was a senior art director at Mucca Design.

MODERN MEXICAN CUISINE IN AUSTIN'S VIBRANT SECOND STREET DISTRICT

In Mexico City, signage is typically hand painted on walls, whitewashed, and painted again for generations—creating a rich and colorful backdrop. The resulting brand identity system reflects this eclecticism—all typography for menus, signage and other materials were hand-painted, stamped, stenciled or drawn creating an authentic mix-matched continuity.

In 2011, La Condesa opened a new location in St Helena in the historic Keller Meats building. Sharing the same chef as in Austin, they are receiving wonderful press for their take on modern mexican food.
