In 2021, Butterfield Market expanded to a new brick and mortar location a few blocks from The Met Museum in Upper Manhattan. This larger space provided the design team to think about the space from scratch. The result was an expansion to the brand system that extended to new signage, menus, packaging and more.
The new store design presented opportunities for directional signage and environmental graphics helping delineate various departments of the store. From design of custom menu systems to selecting ceramic tile, every design decision was made with the customer experience in mind.
Let’s not forget the required Instagram Moment! Areas like the new Frozen Yogurt window allow customers to tag themselves and let friends and followers see that they have been to Butterfield Market.
The warm, neighborhood spirit of Butterfield comes to life in a constantly evolving system of artwork and illustrations including tote bags, notebooks, tea towels and even onesies.
