PRESIDIO SOCIAL CLUB

Set within the former army base of what is now the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the Presidio Social Club recalls the building’s former life as an officers’ club in the 1940s.

To develop a sense of time and place custom maps were created, as well as illustrations of the restaurant itself. These information graphics both reference the exuberance of a bygone era, and are useful for way-finding (actual signage was not allowed in the park).

HISTORICAL INSPIRATION

To be true to the time period and feeling of the space, all of the typefaces were selected to be of (or before) the 1940s. This small detail works wonders in transporting the diner to another time and place.
